Blog Entry #9- Dad of 2 missing kids face murder charges

In Vancleave Mississippi police says the father of two missing Alabama children will be charged with murder. Mobile Police spokesman Chris Levy said Wednesday that the discovery of remains believed to be the man's 3-year-old son gives authorities enough evidence to file two murder charges against John DeBlase, 27. A boys bones were found in rural Mississippi earlier in the day after DeBlase told police where to look. "Everything we found is absolutely consistent with the information he gave to us on what to look for," Levy said. The bones were found by search crews Wednesday morning in the woods just off Highway 57 north of Vancleave, Miss. Tests still need to be conducted to confirm the identity, but authorities are convinced the bones are the remains of Chase DeBlase, Levy said. John DeBlase has also told authorities he dumped the body of his 5-year-old daughter Natalie in the woods north of Mobile in June. Her remains have not been found. It disturbs investigators that no one came forward sooner, Levy said. Police say the boy was last seen in March and the girl in June, but their disappearances weren't reported until authorities in Kentucky received a tip recently. Mobile police began investigating last month.

Opinion: My opinion on this issue is that these two kids should not be out because they are so young. I don't really believe that the kids can ever have a true justice for their lives being taken away at such an early age. people saw that these babies were being abused and did nothing about it... more people need to stand up for kids...I blame the family of these 2 children..seems all they want to do is point fingers, when they should of been using them to call 911.

ISSUE #3 - Safe to Eat

In 2006, several cases of food-borne illnesses called attention to the nation's process for ensur ing the safety of fresh fruit and vegetables. An outbreak of food poisoning from the dangerous bacteria E. coli. was traced in a bag of spinich. Testing revealed that this case originated at a California farm, where feral pigs had spread E. coli from cow manure into spinach fields. Similar incidents followed, causing more people to become ill. First, Americans are consuming greater amounts of fresh produce in an attempt to eat more healthfully. Unlike meat, fresh produce is often consumed raw. Many consumers have called for new safety regulations for the supply of fruit and vegetables. Whereas meat and poultry are highly regulated by the Department of Agriculture, fruit and vegetables fall under the purview of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the states. Thus far, the government has relied primarily on self-regulation by the industry and farmers.

obviously people are considering to eat healthier and they are putting some safety regulations on certain foods. E Coli has been found in 700 stereotypes and they have been identified. The E. coli serotypes that are responsible for the numerous reports of outbreaks traced to the consumption of contaminated foods and beverages. A lot of people still eat spinch even though they had the outbreak.

Blog Entry #8- Elections down, 2012 presidential campaign begins

With the 2010 elections in the rear view mirror, the 2012 U.S. presidential campaign is now under way and would-be candidates are asking themselves: Is President Barack Obama beatable? As of right now Obama is at 45% as a rating and he is getting a thumbs down from voters. Right now he has to compromise with the republicans who are now in control of the house of representatives. Republicans right now don't have no natural candidate for the presidential campaign and this means that anyone is open to this spot.

Now that the republicans have taken over the house of representatives I have a feeling that President Obama is going to have a hard competition with all the republicans are running and in the race to win in 2012. Some people think that he is not doing very well because he isn't solving many of the problems that we should be worrying about. I would like to see who in the republicans side would be running for this position.

Blog Entry #7- Tourist killed by lions while showering

A tourist was killed by lions will he was showering at a popular fishing camp in a remote area of Zimbabwe.Pete Evershed, who was vacationing from the capital Harare, was taking an outdoor shower just before dark Tuesday when up to five lions attacked. After others at the camp heard screams, he was found in the shower with serious neck wounds and later died from loss of blood. But a conservation group said lions are having to compete with humans for food, and that eight villagers were killed in similar attacks earlier this year.

I don't think that national parks here should have outside showers because of what happened to this guy. You also know that any animal can come attack you when you aren't even watching. They should have people supervising and watching animals that come out of no where. The should also have food out at all times for the lions because then it would prevent them from coming out at night and attacking other people that are outside.

Blog Entry #6- 10-year-old gives birth in southern Spain

A ten year old has given birth in southern Spain. Authorities are trying to decide if they should let her have custody of the baby. The baby was born last week in the city of Jerez de la Frontera, said Micaela Navarro, the Andalusia region's social affairs minister. The father of the baby is a minor. The mother and baby were in good health.Authorities do not consider this a case of rape and that no criminal investigation is under way. Under Spanish law, having sex under the age of 13 is classified as child abuse. This case is complicated by the fact that the father of the baby is also a minor and it isn't clear if he could be charged. The daily Diario de Jerez reported the girl was already pregnant when she arrived in Spain, but did not say when she came to this country. It is not clear if the father is in Spain. Studies have shown that teenage girls are more likely to give birth to premature babies and their infants have a higher chance of dying by age one.

I feel that it is not right for a 10 year old to have a kid already and her parents letted her have it. She is so lucky that her baby is healthy. She is also very young that she had it and their could of been problems with having the baby. I personally think that she should be able to keep the baby with the help of her parents. If the parents can't help her out she shouldn't be able to keep the baby.

Blog Entry #5- Teen finds 3 bodies, thought it was a prank

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 16-year-old boy thought he stumbled onto a Halloween prank when he found the bloodied bodies of his brother, mother, and stepfather in his family's home in Martin in northwest Ohio, authorities said Monday. Devon Griffen had spent the night out and returned home Sunday to change his clothes before church , authorities said. After returning from church, he discovered the bodies of his brother, Derek Griffin, 23; their mother, Susan Liske; and her husband, William Liske. The teenager told authorities that looked like a joke from a halloween party but they realized that they weren't a halloween decorations. He ran outside and told his aunt and she called 911.

Opinion: Sadly i feel that halloween is the deadliest holiday. I feel that kids should be out late on a sunday night when you should have a party the day before like some of the restuarants. They have people come in for a costume party and people win awards. I also think that kids should go to the halloween parties or things that go on in town instead of going out and doing these stupid things like this on that happened to this 16 year old boy.

Blog Entry #4- Investors await elections, but Fed may loom larger

New York- After a two month rally in the stock market, some investors are about to see if they get what they wished for: more republicans in Congress and lots of cheap money. The U.S stock market has priced in the Republicans gaining ground in Tuesdays elections. Jobs will be a touchstone, with the high U.S unemployment rate figuring into the campaign of Republicans and Democrats. The payroll report is expected to show that it gained by 60,000 in October compared with September's loss of 95,000 jobs.

I feel good about the elections because this year they are sensing that they are going to rise because of the payroll. Both republican and democrat are both wanting to use our money like borrowing and using it and they are both making people use borrow so the banks can create money.Deflation is the problem. But the time to fight deflation was decades ago. Today's economic problems are not about what we are doing now. They are about what we have already done for many decades.

Blog Entry # 3- Transformed into heroes, rescued Chile miners ponder future

Chile's 33 newly rescued minors recovered from their ordeal on Thursday while also pondering the celebrity status they have gained. Most of the miners were found to be in decent health despite being stuck in a collapsed mine tunnel since August 5. The men were resting in a hospital after being hoisted to the surface in a rescue operation watched by millions worldwide. One of the miners had pneumonia and was being treated with antibiotics. Following a more than two-month entrapment deep under a remote desert. It took about 22 hours from the time the first miner was brought to the surface until the last miner was pulled to freedom late on Wednesday, and then another roughly 2-1/2 hours until the last of the six rescuers also emerged from the gold and copper mine early on Thursday.

Opinion: My opinion on this issue in Chile I would not want to be stuck in a cave that long. I would not want any people around me for a while. I would also want to know what is going on with our money. I would want enough stuff to get me through this incident with the minors.

Issue #1 War Dollars

It grants Congress the authority to approve federal spending. In the past, Congress has used its "power of the purse" to rein in war efforts. After years of the unpopular Vietnam War, Congress imposed a cap on troops, and in 1982, Congress denied President Ronald Reagan's request to fund the Contra rebels fighting in Nicaragua. Today, as public disillusionment with the war in Iraq grows, policymakers and others debate whether Congress should use its appropriations powers to influence or restrict President Bush's military policy in Iraq. The president is elected by the American people is the commander in chief and has the sole power to decide how to conduct America's battles, insist those opposed to Congress's interference. According to these executive branch supporters, the president's administration is better equipped than Congress to determine and carry out military policies that will ensure victory.

I feel that congress should have to power to stop funding the war because they have the authority to approve the federal spending. We wanted to go to war against Al Queda, not the whole Iraq. The only reason we are there, in my opinion, is selfish means and it is really pointless because all we want is their oil. Perhaps we should mind our own business, saving lives and billions of dollars. i feel that the president should have a say on how much we should spend on the war. when it comes to the war we spend a lot more then what we can afford.

Blog Entry #2- Autumn a great time to fall in love into a vacation Deal

It's that time again. Summer's over, and students are back to school, the weather is starting to cool off and everyone's thoughts are turning into vacations. Well, maybe not everyone, but for some people, a fall getaway is more than a passing thought. They wouldn’t dream of going away any other time.“People are looking for good values and package deals that pack in fun, activities, sampling and still save money,” said Gary Knowles, a tourism marketing expert and former communications director for Wisconsin Tourism. Most travelers move with the herd, taking beach vacations during the summer and heading to the mountains when it snows. But a select few do it the other way around. It isn’t so much the fact that people taking these vacations think differently, but that they are richly rewarded for their decisions by getting better service, lower prices and usually, a superior vacation experience.

I feel this article is very true because people want to get away when the kids start school they already want to go somewhere.People usually take most of the vacations in the summer and the spring. Summer is for the beach vacations. The summer is usually to go on a family trip as a tourist. During the fall people are looking for deals on different vacations so they can go in the summer or spring.

Blog Entry #1 Tropical Storm Karl Hits Mexico's Yucatan

CANCUN, Mexico ― A strong Tropical Storm Karl made landfall on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula on Wednesday, hitting a sparsely populated stretch of Caribbean coast, while two Category 4 hurricanes roared further out in the Atlantic. Karl's maximum sustained winds reached 100 mph (160 kph), making it a Category 2 storm, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami. There was a possibility it could become a major hurricane with winds of 110 mph (175 kph) or higher before making landfall, the center said. The Mexican government issued a hurricane warning for a 186-mile (300-kilometer) stretch of coast in Veracruz state, stretching northward from the city of the same name. On its predicted path, Karl could make landfall between the port of Veracruz and the oil hub of Poza Rica. About 80,000 people have had their homes damaged and nine people have been killed in flooding.

I feel very sad for these people that are going through this tropical storm. i am kinda amazed by how this tropical storm can easily turn into a hurricane and how it can also cause landfall between the port of Veracruz and the oil hub of Poza Rica. i am kinda also amazed at how many peoples homes are being destroyed and how many people have been killed in the flooding.
